From 31 January 2025, all imports from the European Union into Great Britain will be required to submit a Safety & Security Great Britain declaration, abbreviated as S&S GB or SSGB - also known internationally as ENS.

The carrier or freight forwarder transporting the goods across the border into the UK will be legally responsible for ensuring that the required safety and security declarations are provided, but may arrange for a third party to provide the declarations on their behalf. It is very likely that Border Agency GB will strictly enforce these requirements. Carriers who fail to provide the correct declarations will not be allowed to travel or will face sanctions.
